Community Service
Community Service activities are designed to provide program participants with the work experience and skill training needed to become employed in the community. Work experience opportunities that are in-line with the individual’s career goals are developed with local non-profit agencies. These work opportunities provide participants with the job skills, understanding of workplace culture and employer expectations they need to be successful in finding and keeping a job. For some program participants this is their first exposure to the world of work making it vitally important that the placement is a positive learning experience. The ultimate goal of the program is successful job placement, retention and eventual self-sufficiency gained through unsubsidized employment.
"Since you get more joy out of giving joy to others, ~Eleanor Roosevelt
