Initial Job Search and Other Job Search

A four week intensive Initial Job Search program offers training and support in all aspects of a successful job search. Topics covered include resume creation, completing an employment application, cold-calling employers, networking, internet job search & applications on-line, mock interviews, being successful in the workplace, job retention, life skills, goal setting, career planning, and creating a professional image. Following two weeks of intensive classroom work students move on to two more weeks of staff assisted, structured job search in our resource and computer lab, where telephones and 18 Dell computers with high speed internet access are available to job seekers.

Participants referred for Other Job Search receive individualized job search assistance utilizing, and building upon, the tools that are developed in the Initial Job Search classroom work. The length of Other Job Search is determined by the refering counselor.
